D5.2 Intelligent planning and scheduling: specifications refinement and early mockup

The purpose of this document is to introduce, describe and discuss scheduling approaches of test campaigns and approaches to planning of functional, security and usage-based testing.

The ambition of the MIDAS consortium is to propose a new framework able to address testing of very large and complex systems. The size of these systems is such that brute force testing methodologies become less and less feasible. It is necessary not only to generate test case with strong failure seeking capability, but also to take into account the context and the evidence already collected to choose carefully the next tests to be performed. Of course, the computational complexity sources – very large and interconnected services architecture, very large test suites – must be assessed together with the complexity of the proposed scheduling solution. This is the purpose of the intelligent planning and scheduling.
