Collaboration with Pilots

Good collaboration with the pilots is vital for the technical integration, in order to ensure that the developed platform matches the needs of the pilots and that the pilots know what they can expect of the developed platform. Within MIDAS, we use multiple communication channels in parallel to coordinate the technical integration and the pilot activities.

  • First, there will be discussions on technical issues on the MIDAS mailing lists with both technical partners and pilot representatives.
  • Second, pilot representatives are present during the weekly conference calls of the TMC. Through both of ways, we make sure that there is no disconnect between the pilots and the technical integration.
  • Additionally, early versions of the pilots will be used for the verification of increments: the scenarios defined in the 2nd increment will be executed against a dummy version of the pilots based on their WSDL descriptions, the 3rd increment will be tested against a partially testable demo of the pilots, and from the 4th increment onwards complete versions of the pilots will be used.
  • Finally, the auxiliary steps for the training and use case definitions are performed by the technical partners and the pilots together and also serve to demonstrate to the pilots what is possible with MIDAS.
